The first echo accreditation examination developed by the VCS Cardiovascular Screening and Accreditation Group (CSAG) sub committee is being held on the 9th and 10th of June 2025.
The canine screening echocardiography accreditation exam has been developed by members of the VCS with an interest in breed screening. It is designed to encourage consistency of approach and ensure a basic level of competency amongst veterinary cardiologists performing screening examinations and is not mandatory at the moment, but we encourage existing screeners to take part. The development of the breed screening echocardiography accreditation exam aims to develop veterinary echocardiography along the lines of similar schemes and consensus statements widely adopted in human echocardiography and will be updated according to developments in the area.
More details about CSAG and the examination can be found for VCS Members in the members heart screening section.
