2026 VCS Spring Meeting – Friday 20 March 2026
The Veterinary Cardiovascular Society is delighted to invite members to the 2026 VCS Spring Meeting, taking place on Friday 20th March at Austin Court, Birmingham, conveniently located in the heart of the city.
This year’s programme brings together an outstanding panel of international speakers covering cutting-edge clinical and translational cardiology. José Matos will deliver two highly anticipated lectures exploring contrast-enhanced echocardiography and Thin and Hypokinetic Myocardial Segments (THyMS) in cats.
We are also pleased to welcome Professor Vivek Muthurangu, who will provide a human cardiology perspective on tricuspid regurgitation physiology, with insights into advanced MR imaging and the emerging role of artificial intelligence. Tiago Bispo will also present a session on echocardiography of the right heart, a topic of growing relevance in both clinical practice and research.
Interventional cardiology will be in focus with “Cardiac Interventions with Unexpected Outcomes”, presented by Tobi Wagner and Rafaela Gregorio, offering valuable lessons from real-world cases.
For the first time at the VCS Spring Meeting, we are excited to introduce a scientific abstract session, providing a platform to showcase new research and foster discussion within the cardiovascular community.
Lastly Vicky Ironside will present a proposal for a feline breed screening data base platform hosted by VCS. Vicky will outline the benefits, practicalities and projected costs of this project which will be followed by an extraordinary members vote on whether the society should fund this.
We look forward to welcoming you to Birmingham for a stimulating and rewarding day.
Sessions will be recorded for those delegates who are unable to attend in person (with advance purchase of an online only access ticket) and this will be released a few weeks post-event.
