We are delighted to announce the 50th Anniversary November meeting of the VCS in association with the British Equine Veterinary Association.

Join us for three days of world class veterinary cardiology and an anniversary celebration.

The BEVA equine cardiology day focuses on a practical approach to equine arrythmias and the challenges these pose to horses, riders and vets. “When the beat goes wrong”. Horses provide great comparative cardiology insight and the program will be accessible and of interest to all cardiologists.

The VCS days include historical perspectives on veterinary cardiology and interventional procedures with a look to the future – how should we audit our successes and failures?  Presentations include clinical perspectives on acute deterioration in cats and sedation / anaesthesia of cats with heart disease as well as case reports and updates from the ECVIM / ACVIM meetings. We’ll look at how we balance clinical developments with practicalities with an expert panel discussion: What is gold standard cardiology?

We are pleased to again host a separate nurse stream for the growing number of cardiology focused nurses who are increasingly integral to veterinary cardiology services. Topics include setting up cardiac clinics, cardiac anaesthesia, heart sounds and nurse case reports.

Our commercial sponsors will be on hand to discuss how they can support you in your work and we will again showcase poster presentations which we encourage you to contribute to, whether from first opinion or referral.

Lastly there will be the breed screening meeting and our annual general meeting.

This year will mark the 50th anniversary of the VCS and we want to make it our biggest meeting yet, welcoming members old and new. Come and catch up with friends on Thursday evening, then celebrate on Friday with live music from Loxley’s Nutts accompanied by some well-known society faces. Ride the bucking bronco and dress smart to impress with a gold theme and prizes for the best turned out!

The meeting will be at our regular venue – the centrally located Chesford Grange Spa Hotel near Kenilworth in Warwickshire. There will be an option to include accommodation in the Chesford Grange Hotel with your congress ticket. Kenilworth offers a variety of local attractions, restaurants and accommodation if you want to stay and explore further afield.

We hope you can join in person but if not we will offer the option to register for online access to meeting recordings, available after the event exclusively for one year.
