The Veterinary Cardiovascular Society is pleased to offer two in‑person practical training days designed to support candidates preparing for the VCS Canine Echo Accreditation Exam. These sessions provide a structured, supportive environment to refine your image acquisition skills, deepen your understanding of required measurements, and gain clarity on the exam format and marking scheme.

What to Expect

These full‑day courses combine theory, guided scanning, and practical measurement workshops. Delegates will:

  • Review the standard echocardiographic views and required measurements
  • Practise acquiring high‑quality canine echo images under tutor supervision
  • Receive practical tips to optimise performance on examination day

Participants are encouraged to bring their own ultrasound systems, particularly if they intend to use them during the exam, to ensure familiarity and confidence.

We also welcome well‑behaved dogs for the practical scanning sessions.

Who Can Attend

These sessions are open to delegates who are VCS members and have further qualifications in cardiology.

Places are limited to ensure high tutor‑to‑delegate ratios, so early booking is strongly recommended.
